- 2 1/2 lb chicken wings, tips removed, separated
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup Soy sauce
- 1/3 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/3 cup oyster sauce
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tbsp chili oil
- 2 tbsp chili paste in soy bean oil, optional
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 2 tbsp anise seeds
- 2 stick cinnamon
- 4 Thai chili peppers, split open
Steps / How to Make
Rinse chicken wings and pat dry. in a dutch oven or heavy bottom pot, on medium heat, add oil. cook unseasoned chicken for about 10 minutes. be sure to stir so all pieces of chicken turn color.
Take all the other ingredients and mix in a bowl.
After all chicken has changed color then add mixture to pot. Stir once to coat all the chicken. Then cover and cook on medium-low heat for 20 minutes.
Remove cover and turn heat back up and cook until sauce has reduced by half and thickened.
