Gyro Burger - After unsuccessgully searching for a gyro burger everywhere, I decided to make my own version. Growing up in NYC, I fell in love with gyros years ago.
I was not sure if it would come out right, but this recipe is on point. Serve it on a flatbread or in a pita, topped with tzatziki sauce, with a cucumber salad on the side.

Ingredients
8 servings
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1-2 tsp onion powder
- 1-2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1-2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1-2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp sage
- 1 tsp allspice
Steps / How to Make
Lightly oil a preheated grill/griddle over medium heat.
Combine the ground beef & lamb, the onion & garlic powder, and breadcrumbs.
Add the oregano, pepper, cumin, sage, and allspice.
Using your hands, knead the mixture together, until well blended.
Divide and shape the mixture into 8 patties.
Cook the patties for 6-10 minutes, depending on the wellness that you like.
