How to make CARNE ASADA | HOMEMADE carne asada tacos | Villa cocina by Villa Cocina

Ingredients

1 serving
  • 3 lbs carne asada meat (flank or skirt steak, flap meat, trimmed sirloin or brisket, etc.)
  • 1/2 C soy sauce
  • 1/2 C olive oil
  • 1/3 C white vinegar
  • 4 ea garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 t fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 t ground white pepper
  • 1 t mustard powder
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1 t chili powder
  • 1 t paprika
  • 1 t ground cumin
  • 1 t dried oregano
  • 1/2 t kosher salt
  • 2 ea juiced limes (retain juice & rinds)
  • 2 ea green onion (rough chopped)
  • 1 ea jalapeno (chopped, discard stem)
  • 1/2 ea red onion (rough chopped)
  • 1/2 C cilantro (chopped)

Steps/How to Make

Combine all ingredients except meat.

Let marinade rest for five minutes to allow flavors to bloom.

Pour over meat and marinade for 1-3 hours. (turn the meat or shake the marinade bag to ensure even marination)

Grill on a very hot grill to the desired doneness. Serve and enjoy!
