Blackened Mahi Mahi - This also turns out perfectly in my Power Air Fryer. I omit the butter and brush both sides of the fillet with avocado oil after drying. Set the oven to the fish setting(390F) for 20 minutes. Flip halfway thru cook time.

Blackened Mahi Mahi by Valerie's Kitchen
Ingredients
4 people
- 4 Mahi Mahi fillets, approximately 6 oz each
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 lemon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground or dry thyme
- 1 teaspoon ground or dry oregano
- 1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or 1 teaspoon for a bit more kick
Notes....I prefer a bit more seasoning so I generally double the spices and save any leftovers in a sealed container
Steps / How to Make
Combine your seasonings in a bowl. Pat fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides liberally, pressing into the fish.
In a large sauté pan, heat butter and oil over medium high heat. Once hot, add seasoned fillets and let cook undisturbed for several minutes until browned on one side. Flip and continue to cook until opaque.
Remove from pan and squeeze the fresh lemon over the fillets.
