How To Make A Smoked Apple Pie by Cookout Coach
Ingredients
- 1 frozen pie Crust
- 1 can apple pie filling
- 1 can already pie crust (for the top)
- Apple juice
- Apple wood chips
Steps / How to Make
Let the frozen pie shell sit out and come to room tempSet something up with apple juice and apple wood chip set at 250
Smoke room temp pie shell for 10 mins to set some of the moisture out of it
Add pie fill to pie shell and sprinkle with nutmeg
Roll out the ready pie shell and cut in strips
Take strips and place on top of pie filling
Smoke pie for 2 hrs on 250
Notes- I cheated and got a frozen pie, cooked it in my oven for half the cook time, then smoked it the rest of the way (I didn’t want it to be frozen when smoking it...)
